'Of' for 'have'

Я думал, написание should of done, must of been (вместо should have done, must have been) - новомодная ошибка, невозможная в прежние времена, когда люди, прежде чем писать, что-то читали. А вот поди ж ты: в фильме Бастера Китона Steamboat Bill Jr (1928) главный герой приносит отцу в тюрьму буханку хлеба, в которой спрятаны слесарные инструменты для побега. Разоблаченный, он оправдывается таким титром: That must of happened when the dough fell in the tool chest.

Pronunciation note

Because the preposition OF, when unstressed (a piece of cake), and the unstressed or contracted auxiliary verb HAVE (could have gone, could've gone) are both pronounced əv or ə in connected speech, inexperienced writers commonly confuse the two words, spelling HAVE as OF (I would of handed in my book report, but the dog ate it). Professional writers have been able to exploit this spelling deliberately, especially in fiction, to help represent the speech of the uneducated: If he could of went home, he would of.

Это, кстати, типичная "ошибка носителя" в отличие от "ошибки иностранца". Иностранец так никогда не напишет. Ну, если только не выучил/переучился в чате.
