Кажется, трудно придумать что-нибудь более самодостаточное. Ни электричества ему не нужно, ни сменных фильтров, ни дорогих капсул. Служит он неопределенно долгое время - ломаться там, кроме колбы, нечему. То есть, купив френч-пресс, я ухожу из магазина очень надолго - возможно, навсегда. Но разве это можно вынести?

Неведомый гений маркетинга из "Старбакса" изобрел "Набор аксессуаров для френч-пресса". В него входит:
- мерная ложка на 1 ст.л. (5 граммов молотого кофия)
- мерный стаканчик на 240 мл.
- бамбуковая мешалка
- маленький (с пуговицу от пальто) круглый таймер ровно на 4 минуты
- лопатка для выковыривания гущи из пресса.

5 (пять) вещей, ни одна из которых решительно никому не нужна, упакованных в элегантную черно-зеленую коробку. 12 долларов 95 центов.

well, it does have its use

surely, you are aware of the studies that demonstrate that perception of something is directly related to the effect it has on a subject (as in, if a person perceives certain wine to be valuable, the enjoyment experienced is greater)

so, those accessories, unwanted by you, might (and probably will) significantly enhance the pleasure one derives from their coffee

To me, they just seem to increase the bother and confusion. Instead of using just 2 things - i.e. the press itself and a table spoon - I am expected to manipulate 6! I am no juggler, and least of all before breakfast.
